How it all began
It all started with a box…
Jen and Miles met in high school at Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE, and though they were in different grades, they got to know each other through mutual friends (hi, Sophia, Claire, and soccer boys!) and by both playing lacrosse. One day in spring 2010, Jen was at home getting ready for a party (Spencer Slattery’s basement neon party iykyk) when the doorbell rang. She opened the door to a large moving box on the front walkway that said “Prom?” and inside was Miles. Jen and Miles went to Miles’ junior and senior proms together (even though Jen didn’t ask Miles to her senior prom which is still a sore subject so don’t bring it up). They spent their summers together in Strathmere, NJ, where both Jen and Miles’ families had shore houses, before going their separate ways for college.
And the rest is history
Kind of! After graduating college (they both went to University of North Carolina schools: Jen at Chapel Hill, Miles at Wilmington), Jen and Miles both moved back to Philly. They randomly ran into each other after an Eagles home game in the parking lot—though the details on that are a bit fuzzy. After a couple more chance run-ins in Philly and a couple months of Miles asking Jen out on dates, Miles sent a fateful text to Jen on the last day of June 2017: “Hey Jen I think we’re heading to Margate tonight, you got any plans?” Jen went out that night with Miles and the guys. They held hands in the back of an Uber, and THEN the rest was history—they’ve been together ever since! Jen and Miles (and Carl) now live in Newtown Square, PA.
When thinking about their wedding and all the time they’ve each spent in Strathmere since they were both kids, there was no where else they could imagine getting married. See you in Strathmere!
